We picked Princess Cruises, part of the Carnival Cruise Brand (includes Cunard, Holland America, Seabourn and many more) as they offer wheelchair, scooters or specialized
equipment for rent. We love that!

The first US River Cruise Line, Uniworld offers a variety of cruises for all ages. They cater to a 55+ plus crowd. Onboard their are elevators, and spacious cabins. However off the ship, you may find cobblestone streets and unfriendly curbs.
We love Viking Ocean Cruises as they are "Adults Only." So unless you plan to bring the grand kids, try Viking Ocean Cruises. The majority of their fleet is brand new, and they offer free and fun onboard activities

Sure we like Hiltons, Marriotts, Hyatts, IGH Hotels, Best Westerns, and Holiday Inn's, as you usually find up-to-date services, working elevators and walk-in showers. However we just find there is not 100% consistency in their products and every hotel, has a different definition for ADA showers.
All of these hotel companies do offer ADA compliance rooms, but depending on the size of the property these rooms usually count for 1-3% of their overall rooms.
1. How many ADA rooms they have?
2. What floor are the ADA rooms on? We found some located on the 6th floor! Imagine in a fire or earthquake, the elevators are stopped...guess what? You get to walk down 6+ floors!
3. Are there multiple elevators (one could breakdown)?
4. How many rooms with walk-in showers? Is there a "step-over" to walk in?
5. Are there stairs or a ramp from the lobby to the street?
6. Where is the nearest pharmacy?
We like traveling to hotels with the following items:
1. Night lights (If traveling internationally have hotel concierge buy these for you)
2. Shower grips with suction cups
3. List of medications and eye glass prescription
4. Extra batteries
5. Reusable water bottle
6. Extra device chargers (If you forget, check with the hotel front desk or lost & found...they usually have a draw full of forgotten items!)
Please note we are a referral website, based on our extensive travel experience we recommend these companies, however we release liability and suggest you book with your own degression.
