1/ We recommend downloading the Apps of what airline carrier(s) you are flying with, what hotels you are staying at and/or 3rd party booking you are using. Trains, and cruise lines offers Apps as well. You can always Uninstall them when you return home. Also, make sure you have a mapping service, like Google Maps
2/ Book Direct with carrier and/or Hotel. We like 3rd party sites (such as Expedia, Booking.com, etc.,) However if there is a problem, you must contact them directly (even if you are at hotel standing at the front desk!)
3/ If you need a little extra help with a walker or wheelchairs in museums, palaces, castles, etc., , most places note this directly on their websites. When you book direct they will know exactly when you'll be arriving as they have tours designed for your needs. Also, some places reserve wheelchairs, others it is first come, first serve!
For instance, when I took my Mother to the Palace of Versailles. I booked directly on their website, and noted the need for a wheelchair. When we arrived we went to a special entrance, she got the chair, we were escorted personally through the 'back rooms' up & down elevators not offered for public use. Lucky us as seeing 'behind the scenes' made the experience extra special!
Please note we are a referral website, based on our extensive travel experience we recommend these companies, however we release liability and suggest you book with your own degression.
